NerdCurl vs Twine-Time Challenge: Handshakes
If you’re reading this, you’re probably already aware that Twine-Time and myself have been engaged in a friendly competition throughout the year in terms of who could better predict the outcome of curling events. With two events left to go this season, I am officially conceding to Twine-Time as I am not going to be predicting the currently-ongoing Players’ Championship or the season-ending Champions’ Cup. To be perfectly honest, I did not have the time to make any predictions until today (Friday), well after the event had started. I started a new career this past week and an unfortunate side effect is that it has given me very little free time of any substance. Not that I’m complaining at all mind you, just stating a fact.
Previously, I have always made it a point to get my predictions out prior to or shortly after the start of the event, lest any results impact or influence my judgment. Unfortunately I was unable to stay in the dark regarding the outcomes of the games so far, and given that and the fact that as I type this several teams have already been eliminated from playoff contention and several others have qualified, I could not in good conscience claim that any predictions I make for the remainder of the event were made without being influenced by said results. Sure, I could throw something out there, but it wouldn’t feel right and I don’t think it would be right.
As it stands Twine-Time is leading 130 to 124, and we are tied for event wins at 5 each. Consider this handshakes before the final end. Congratulations on a season well-predicted, and good luck with the final two events!
