2015 Canada Cup Recap

          Congratulations to Team Homan & Team Koe, winners of the 2015 Canada Cup! Both teams have earned berths to compete as part of Team North America at the 2016 Continental Cup in Las Vegas. More importantly, both teams have earned berths into the 2017 Tim Horton’s Roar of the Rings in Ottawa, which are the Canadian Olympic Trials. Team Homan went 5-1 in the round robin, losing their final game to Team Middaugh (thus ending an impressive 25 game winning streak going back to October). They earned a bye straight to the final, where they faced Team Sweeting, beating them 8-7 in an extra end. For Team Homan, this marks their fifth consecutive event win (and sixth overall) of the season. Team Koe went 5-2 in the round robin, losing to Team Epping and Team McEwen. They faced Team Epping again in the semi-final, winning 7-6. and then faced Team McEwen once again in the final, where they won 7-3 in nine ends. For Team Koe, this marks their third event win of the season. As for my predictions, I has mixed results (in case you missed it, you can listen to them here). For the women, I was 2/3 on qualifying teams, as I had Team Fleury qualifying instead of Team Jones.
