2015 European Curling Championships Recap

  Congratulations to all the medal winners from the 2015 European Curling Championships! Gold     Silver     Bronze         At the conclusion of women’s round-robin play, Russia topped the standings with an 8-1 record, followed by Scotland (7-2), Finland (6-3), and Denmark (6-3). Russia defeated Denmark in the semi-final, while Scotland defeated Finland. In the Bronze Medal game, Finland topped Denmark 10-8, while Russia defeated Scotland 6-4 to win Gold. For the men, Norway went undefeated in round-robin play with a perfect 9-0 record, while Finland, Switzerland, Sweden, and Scotland all finished 5-4. This resulted in a tiebreaker game between Scotland and Sweden for the fourth playoff spot, which Sweden won. Sweden went on to defeat Norway in the semi-final, while Switzerland defeated Finland. Norway defeated Finland 7-4 for Bronze, while Sweden defeated Switzerland 7-6 for their Gold Medal. Looking at my predictions for the event (available here), I was 2/4 with women’s qualifying teams and 3/4 for the men. On the women’s side I had Sweden and Switzerland qualifying instead of Denmark and Finland, while for the men I had Scotland instead of Finland. When it comes to final placing/medals, I was 2/4 with the women and 1/4 with the men. I predicted both Gold Medal winners correctly, and also had Scotland Women winning Silver.
