GSOC National Recap

      Congratulations to Team Gushue & Team Homan, winners of the 2015 Grand Slam of Curling National! This year marks the first time there has been a women’s field at this event, making Team Homan the inaugural champions of this event as well. For Team Gushue, this is their first GSOC title of the season and their second final appearance, while for Team Homan it marks their second title and third final appearance. Team Gushue went 3-1 in the round-robin, with their only loss coming to Team Kevin Koe. They faced Team Ulsrud in the quarterfinals, Team Epping in the semi-finals, and ultimately Team Carruthers in the final. Team Homan once again went undefeated throughout the entire event. In the playoffs they faced Team Rocque in the quarterfinals, Team Lawton in the semi-finals, and Team Fleury in the final. Both Team Carruthers and Team Fleury were playing in their first GSOC finals games, and in the case of Team Carruthers it was their first time making it past the quarterfinals. As for the victors, both teams are having phenomenal seasons so far, sitting firmly atop the CTRS rankings with five titles each under their belts.
